BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Hans Gregersen is the President of the institute. He also serves as board member, professor, and administrator of California Medical Innovations Institute.



Science. Dr. Gregersen previously served as Professor in medicine, engineering, and bioengineering colleges in Denmark, Norway, Ireland, China, Hong Kong, and USA. He has been a professor at the institute since 2017. He has served on several journal and congress editorial boards and was President of the 2015 OESO Congress held in Monaco. He was in the Chinese top foreign talent program from 2013-2016.Dr. Gregersen was Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2016-2019. Dr. Gregersen established the GIOME network that has sites in the USA, Europa, Mainland China and Hong Kong. He has several highly cited publications in gastrointestinal biomechanics as well as in other fields in gastroenterology, gynecology, and the cardiovascular field. Dr. Gregersen published six books in gastroenterology, primarily about new technological advances in mechanosensory research and diagnostics. Dr. Gregersen received grants from NIH, Chinese Science and Technology grants, EU-FP6, EU-FP7 and Danish Research Council grants.


Awards. Dr. Gregersen received several prestigious awards, including the AGA Award in 2008 and the Chinese National Friendship Award in 2014. Furthermore, he is Fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association (AGAF). 


Leadership and management skills. Dr. Gregersen has a degree in management and served as the director of Research and Innovation at Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark from 2001-2010 and the Executive Director of the Sino-Danish University in Beijing from 2010-2013 and Vice-Dean at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences during the same period. 


Innovation. Dr Gregersen is a leading innovator in gastroenterology. Dr. Gregersen is the inventor of impedance planimetry and the FLIP technology that was acquired by Medtronic in 2017. He is also the inventor of the multimodal technology and Fecobionics. Dr. Gregersen holds numerous other patents and made several spin-off companies.
