Dr. Gregersen received his MD and PhD from University of Aarhus in Denmark. In addition, Dr. Gregersen received his MPM in strategic management. He previously served as Professor in medical, engineering, and bioengineering colleges in Denmark, Norway, Ireland, China and USA. Dr. Gregersen was the director of Research and Innovation at Aarhus University Hospital from 2001-2010 and the Executive Director of the Sino-Danish University in Beijing from 2010-2013 and Vice-Dean at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was in the Chinese foreign talent program from 2013-2016 and received the National Friendship Award in 2014. He also received the AGA Award in 2008 and is Fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association. He has served on several journals and congress editorial boards and was President of the 2015 OESO Congress in Monaco. Dr. Gregersen co-serves as Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Gregersen established the GIOME network that has sites in USA, Europa, Mainland China and Hong Kong. He has a number of highly cited publications in gastrointestinal biomechanics as well as in other fields in gastroenterology, gynecology and the cardiovascular field. Dr. Gregersen published six books in gastroenterology, primarily about new technological advances in mechanosensory research and diagnostics. Dr. Gregersen is the inventor of the FLIP technology that was acquired by Medtronic in 2017. He was also the inventor of the multimodal technology and Fecobionics as well as he holds numerous other patents and made several spin-off companies.
